Sue Jackel - Vice President
Phone: 885-2348
Sue moved to Sandy Hook from Edmonton in May 1997 and a year later bought the lovely log house on Skana Crescent from the Waddells.  In a former life she was a university professor at the University of Alberta; she still teaches the occasional course at Capilano College, and is active in the community--Eldercollege, affordable housing, various educational endeavours.
She doesn't garden but appreciates the fine results of all her neighbours who do.  She enjoys swimming in the inlet, walking in the neighbourhood, and reading on her deck, weather permitting.
Rupert Clark - Director
Phone:  885-5701
Rupert Clark began as a mine engineer graduating from the Royal School of Mines, London University. After 2 years up north in underground mines (Manitoba and NWT) he decided to spend the next 25 years mostly in Vancouver and doing anything but mining. Anything included prospecting for gold, teaching ESL, cartography, driving cement truck and painting the lines on the runways and taxiways at Vancouver airport. He retired to the Coast 5 years ago with his partner Cynthia. They live at the end of Tillicum Bay Road with two cats and one dog. Pastimes include birdwatching, scrabble, woodworking and trailbuilding.

Bob D'Arcy - Secretary/Treasurer - former President
Phone: 885-5766        Newsletter & Hidden Grove Director
Born in Moose Jaw, raised in Calgary, University in Winnipeg and Edmonton, worked based in Edmonton, Montreal, London,UK and Vancouver. After a bad start as a really lousy pilot Bob put his misadventures to work as an insurance underwriter, Lloyds broker, wholesale and retail broker all in the specialist field of aviation. He retired
as deputy chairman of Aon Aviation personally handling accounts all over the world including: Canada, USA, Chile, Mexico, Columbia, Spain, New Zealand, France, Australia, Italy and the only "airline" in Antarctica.
Upon retirement Bob set out to sail a 29 footer single handed to Hawaii and on to Tahiti and other parts of French Polynesia. Returning to Canada in 1998 he built his house in Sandy Hook and began his activities with the community after being "sucked in" to trail work by Gray Waddell.
Gray Waddell - President
Phone: 885-5606
Gray left his home town of Montreal at the age of 20 to spend thirty-five years in the Canadian Forces which resulted in living in most provinces, except BC, plus Belgium and the United States. He followed that by five years working for CP Rail in Calgary. Discovered Sechelt, had a log house built of white pine logs shipped from Alberta and moved to Sandy Hook in 1993. Immediately became involved as a board member with the Sunshine Coast Association for Community Living--accumulating two tours as president along the way. Also spent two tours as president of Sandy Hook Community Association.
Getting on in years but still active in trail building and maintenance, keeping a close eye on local political matters, walking the dog(s) in the forest and being a general busybody. The decision to retire to BC was partly motivated by the fact that wife, Heather, was a White Rock girl. Overall it's been a good choice although a few more sunny days in the winter would be appreciated. Must be why most of our friends disappear south for a while at that time.
